Ryan Devlin

Ryan Devlin is the new assistant coach at George Washington University. He will be responsible for the 2020-21 season. He has coached for fifteen years and has coached five players in the NBA. He was an assistant at Montrose Christian School from 2008-09 and Bowling Brook Preparatory School from 2005-07. He was born and raised in Waynesboro. He attended the University of Pittsburgh.


Georgetown's basketball team is currently in a difficult coaching and recruiting situation. While the University has decided to protect Patrick Ewing for another season, they have not been able make the necessary changes to improve their program. Every day that passes is another day it could have been spent recruiting for the upcoming season.

Brenden Straughn

Brenden Straughn was born in Maryland and joined the Loyola University Maryland coaching staff as a men's basketball coach in June 2018. He attended Hood College in Frederick, Maryland and has been a high school and AAU coach for the past five years. He previously served as an assistant coach for Team Takeover, an AAU team in the Washington, D.C. area.

Straughn was a four-year starter at Hood and served as team captain for his final three seasons. He finished his college career among the top-10 in scoring assists, steals and scoring. He averaged 8.7 points and 3.6 assists per game. Straughn earned a bachelor of arts in business administration and was also an active member of the Black Student Union and Athletic Peer Mentor Group. Straughn graduated from GW in business administration and went on to work in the accounting/data processing industries.

Jaren Jackson

Jaren Jackson, the founder and CEO of Georgetown Coaching, has impressive credentials. He was a valedictorian of his high school class, and he went on to play college ball at Georgetown University, where he played alongside future NBA superstar Alonzo Mourning. John Thompson was also his Hall of Fame coach. He went on to play basketball for 12 years, including nine different teams and winning the WBL title. He was also part of the David Robinson/Tim Duncan supporting team for the San Antonio Spurs.

Jackson was an assistant coach his first two seasons in Georgetown. He averaged 11 minutes per match and helped the Hoyas reach a record of 29-5. He had strong performances against Providence (Pitt) and Providence (3.3 points).
